Más de 800 razones

Yesterday, artist Osvado Budet published the trailer of his documentary Más de 800 Razones, in which he contextualize the student strike at the University of Puerto Rico using official data about the economic state of affairs of the country and interviewing students.  Budet’s decision of making a documentary about the strike seems logical and in sync with his artistic production.  He is known by his paintings of historical moments in which he portrays himself as a journalist and even as an active participant.  Reference to the documentary genre in his work is not only limited to the content, also the materials used for his paintings serves that purpose; i.e. he uses diamond dust to make reference to the diamond point used by early cinema sound systems.  In this new project Budet will not need to imagine himself as part of history, this time he have the chance to actually be part of a relevant moment and document it or even participate.  For more information about the documentary visit www.masde800razones.com.

 


 

En el día de ayer el artista Osvaldo Budet publicó el avance del documental Más de 800 Razones, que a través de datos sobre el estado del país y entrevistas con estudiantes busca contextualizar la huelga estudiantil en la Universidad de Puerto Rico.  La decisión  de Budet de hacer un documental sobre el particular es absolutamente consono con su obra plástica en la que usa la pintura o la manipulación fotográfica donde incluye su imagen como participante de momentos históricos.  La referencia al cine documental se encuentra en toda su obra no solo porque es de ahí que saca muchas de sus imágenes, sino que también todos los materiales que utiliza para crear sus pinturas tienen relación con el mismo.  En este nuevo proyecto de Budet ya no tendra que imaginar su participación en la historia, esta vez le tocó vivir un momento clave en el que puede participar y documentar.  Aquí les dejo el avance del documental, pueden conseguir mas información en www.masde800razones.com.
